Overview

Repeat SMS is a text-based replenishment reminder system - an additional SMS channel specifically focused on replenishing previously purchased products as an alternative to subscription offerings.

Repeat SMS vs Other Channels

Many customers want to avoid signing up for general SMS marketing but are open to receiving helpful notifications to reorder at the right time. Repeat SMS is a tool to help you reach these customers.

It's a notification channel rather than a marketing or transactional channel. We like to think of it as somewhere between marketing and transactional messages. Your customers are specifically opting for replenishment notifications—not general marketing messages.


Customer Experience

Post-Purchase Opt In

Customers can opt into Repeat SMS after completing a purchase via a modal on the thank you page.

We won't show the modal to:

  1. Customers who are opted into another SMS marketing channel.

    1. Customers only receive this option if they are not active SMS subscribers. These customers may avoid opting into SMS marketing but are open to receiving convenient and timely notifications.

    2. If someone opts into Repeat SMS and later becomes an SMS subscriber on another channel, we immediately unsubscribe them from Repeat SMS.

  2. Customers with an active product subscription via Recharge or other subscription software.

SMS Experience

Once it is time to replenish, Repeat SMS will send a message to opted-in customers.

From this message, a customer can either click through to their personalized Repeat Cart to reorder or reply SNOOZE to receive another reminder at a later date.

If a customer replies SNOOZE, they are reminded again in a few weeks. Customers love to snooze—and those who utilize the feature are more likely to make another purchase.

Repeat Cart

Customers who click through to their personalized Repeat Cart can quickly replenish from their previously purchased products without searching for the products they need.

The Repeat Cart features:

  • specific products that Repeat predicts are due to replenish

  • an easy method to subscribe to products they have tried in the past

  • new recommended products to try

Performance

You can monitor the performance of the Repeat SMS channel in the Impact tab of your Repeat App.

From this tab, you can see the number of customers that opt in month over month as well as orders/revenue per month. Note: You can only see this tab if you have this channel active.

Customization

The ability to edit the modal or notification message copy is not currently available in the Repeat App. Please reach out to [email protected] with any changes you'd like to make, and we'll take care of it in a jiffy!
